Public Service Announcement: Update on Yates County
Public Transportation
Yates Transit Services (YTS), regretfully needs to inform residents and taxpayers of Yates County that the Yates County legislature did not approve the proposal to extend the public transportation contract,
until such a time that RTS is ready to provide services. As a result of
this decision by members of the legislature, YTS will be unable to continue providing public transportation services in Yates County after December 31, 2025, for the period of 18 months to 2 years that
the Yates County Legislature proposed.
Since 2017, YTS has proudly provided reliable transportation in
Yates County. However, without the additional funding requested
from Yates County, as a non-profit, YTS cannot continue to provide public transportation. It’s important to note that while Yates County
has turned down the requested funding to YTS in order to continue
to provide public transportation, they will be providing the funding
to RTS when they begin providing public transportation in
Yates County via taxpayer dollars.
We recognize the vital role that accessible transportation plays
in our community and regret that we are unable to maintain
service during this interim period. We sincerely appreciate the
support shown by Yates County residents over the past nine years.

YTS Director of Transportation at 315-856-8231
We at Yates Transit Service want to thank the community for your support the last 9 years.
